Mom's Traveler's Snack

Ingredients

  • 1 c. Corn Chex
  • 1 c. Rice Chex
  • 1 c. Wheat Chex
  • 1 c. Bran Chex
  • 1/2 c. flaked coconut (Jennifer says not for me)
  • 1/2 c. cocktail peanuts
  • 1/3 c. nonfat dry milk powder
  • 1/4 c. sunflower nuts
  • 1/4 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 c. honey
  • 3 T. vegetable oil
  • 1/2 c. raisins
  • Directions

    Combine first nine ingredients in large bowl. [Chex through brown sugar]
    Mix together honey and oil. Pour over Chex mixture. Stir to coat well. (Mixture will be very dry.)
    Spread in 13/9/2-inch baking pan.
    Bake in 300 degree oven 25-35 minutes until Chex are golden brown. Stir twice during baking.
    Remove from oven. Add raisins.
    Let cool in pan, stirring frequently.

    Makes about 6 1/2 cups.
